My last year at university was the turning point for me which led me to get deeper knowledge of acoustics. The constant need of sharing images instead of sounds in order to communicate nowadays was the main inspiration for my thesis, which was a study of the soundscape and a proposal of a digital system for sharing sounds. After few months this proposal became reality and I started working as a project manager and creative director for Soundlike, an application that allows sharing and geolocation of the sounds.

The project was born in Septembre 2014 but I needed a team. It was not so difficult. Alberto Barone, graphic designer, Salvatore D’agostino, web developer and Riccardo Marchi, management engineer took part in the project enthusiastically.

The team spent three months inside Polihub, the incubator of Politecnico of Milano, doing a market research, developing the landing page and creating a business plan. Then they moved at Laboral in Gijon to collaborate with their team, looking for partner, growing their network and building a mobile library to improve the quality of the recording from smartphone.

Imagine to listen to an intresting sound. Our system enables the recording of high-quality sound through your smartphone.

The sound will uploaded directly in the platform according to the place in which it was recorded. You will be able to tag the sound, share it through the various social networks, comment the sound and vote the sound. We can talk about soundscape 2.0, sound become an experiential content with wich to communicate to others people: as images.

Soundlike has already a prototype, a web-app developed inside the team and tested tester around Europe. Now the team is developing the web social platform. As soon as the platform will reach 30K sounds we’ll open the sound market, a user generated marketplace about sounds.
